Privacy Policy

We (Christmas & Volling) recognize and respect the privacy of all clients. The following document outlines our policy for handling any personal information that may be disclosed to us by you.

We are bound by and committed to complying with the National Privacy Principals (NPPs) as described in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.

We will update this privacy policy as required. If it is changed, the changes will be made available to you so that you are always aware of the sort of information collected, how the information may be used, and under what circumstances it may be disclosed by us.

Disclosure of Information

It is a policy of this Practice not to sell, trade, rent or supply to third parties any personal information obtained from you unless we have your express consent to do so. An exception to this is where at any time we are required by law to release information about you or your Organisation we must cooperate fully. Any such disclosures will be recorded and made available to you upon request

What Sort Of Information Will We Collect and How Is Your Information Used By Us?

We will only collect personal information from and about you when you engage us to provide a service to you. We will only collect personal information from you in a lawful and open manner and we will always inform you as to why we are collecting that personal information and whom else we might disclose that personal information to.

We may also use the information to send you material (either by e-mail, fax or post) that you request. If at any time you receive material that you did not request or do not want to receive you need to contact our office.

Should you not be able to, or refuse to disclose the information required by us to provide the service(s) you seek, then you may be unable to receive that service.

Security of Information

All reasonable steps are taken to ensure your personal information is kept secure. These steps include:-

  • Installation of ‘Firewalls’ to prevent the hacking our client database
  • Access to premises protected by a monitored security system
  • Employees informed of the importance of client confidentiality and the Privacy Legislation.
  • Clauses relating to client confidentiality included in employee agreements.
  • Unnecessary client information in any paper form is shredded
  • Passwords used by staff for accessing database information
  • Restricted access to sensitive client information that you may have previously willingly given

**Note that in the event of burglary or other such circumstance we cannot guarantee that your personal information may not be accessed.

Correcting and Updating Your Profile

Clients have the right to access personal information at any time during business hours and question its accuracy and use. Clients also have the right to correct any personal information that Christmas & Volling may hold on the client’s behalf. This may be done via e-mail, post, telephone or in person. Note that in some circumstances clients may be required to provide proof for such corrections.
